The Latest in My Crazy Life!

June 28, 2010

My Happy Dusty Boy!

So as many of you have read, back in January I gave birth to my first child, a boy, Dusty Orien.  Well when they say “A child changes everything,” they aren’t kidding.  Life has been crazy, amazing, and practically non-stop!  I wouldn’t change it for the world though.

Dusty is an amazing little boy and I love him more than I thought I could love.  Him and his Daddy are my whole world.  Even though Dusty has been a very challenging colic baby, he is slowly growing out of crying for hours and hours a day… just in time for his teething to really start to flare up.  Otherwise he is a very serious baby, he has to explore and try everything.  He doesn’t play with toys as much as he examines them.  I love to watch his little mind work.  He also LOVES to eat, his favorites seem to be sweet potatos and this ham/pineapple/rice mix and he HATES green beans… which is funny because so do I.

This is Dusty and His Daddy After a Shower!

He likes baths but loves showers!

Speck, our dog, just adores Dusty and is very protective and affectionate (maybe alittle too much sometimes).

My husband and I just celebrated our five year wedding anniversary.  I made a whole slideshow of our life from first date to Dusty being added to our little family, as a gift to my love Jon!

My Family

Things are going well and I’m starting to really find a routine.  People often ask me how I find the time to make aliens and be a stay at home Mom…. I just tell them I never sleep, haha!  The truth though is that I do must of my alien work when Dusty is napping, in bed for the night, or on the weekends when Daddy can help out more.  Sometimes running my own little business and taking care of my son can be overwhelming but I wouldn’t trade it.  I love my life!

Adopt an Alien Clubs

June 15, 2010

It’s amazing when something you create causes a big stir somewhere.  Over the last year I have found out about not one, but two Adopt an Alien clubs that have started.  One in Sheridan, WY and the other way up in the Yukon of Canada.  It is exciting to me to know that all these little kids are adopting aliens, giving them good homes, a network of friends, and stories.   I picture these kids sitting around the lunch room giving their aliens pretend food and making up an alien language for them to speak…  I just LOVE my job!

You can start your own alien club by heading to my shop and adopting your own Alien.
